About Us

A rural chapel that has never been in a hurry to become something else.

We are a Bible teaching and preaching church in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania — small enough that you will be missed if you are gone, and glad enough that you will want to come back.

Our Pastor

Pastor Jim & Sue Fillhart

Most folks here just call him Pastor Jim, or PJ.

He and his wife Sue make a point of greeting visitors at the door with a smile and a warm handshake — and if you let them, they will walk you around and show you the building. It is the kind of welcome that is hard to manufacture and easy to recognize.

Pastor Jim preaches through the Scriptures plainly, on the conviction that God’s Word is the final authority on all matters of life, spiritual and physical alike. Our aim from the pulpit is simple: help people see their need for salvation in Christ, and then help them grow up into maturity.

Who Worships Here

Where Everyone Is Someone

It is our motto, and we mean it as a working promise rather than a slogan. In a congregation this size there is no back row to disappear into — which is exactly why people stay.

Country, Not Fancy

Oak pews, a grand piano, and a board on the wall that still tracks last Sunday’s attendance. Come in a suit or come in work clothes. Nobody is checking.

A Sanctuary They Paid For

This congregation has built and added on more than once — most recently the new sanctuary addition finished in 2025, raised through the Ezra Building Fund out of ordinary paychecks. How the fund works →

Our Building

Room to grow into.

The chapel sits on Route 322 with a gravel-and-asphalt lot, a white steeple, and welcome banners that go out every Sunday morning. Inside there is a sanctuary with a wide center aisle, classroom space for six Sunday School classes, and a lobby built for standing around and talking too long.

Parking is free and plentiful, the entrance is at ground level, and you will not have to guess which door to use — it is the one under the steeple.

Come as you are, this Sunday.

You will not be singled out, and no one will ask you to do anything but sit and listen. Worship begins at 10:00.
